Nigeria's GTBank has entered into a strategic partnership with MTN Nigeria to launch mobile money, targeted at the over 30 million unbanked people of the country, Daily Trust reported. GTBank CEO Segun Agbaje said that Mobile Money will help mobilise funds from the unbanked and channel the funds to productive sectors of the economy where they are needed. Subscribers will be able to transfer money, pay bills, top up airtime and shop from their mobile phones, among other things, he said. According to Agbaje, financial inclusion is what the product is about. This will help drive the growth and development of the Nigerian economy, as funds will be made available to critical sectors.

This partnership will thrive.
